Our rowers are working hard in the gym and on the ergs getting ready for our first big event of 2025 – the Walter Johnson Rowing Team’s 5k Erg-A-Thon Fundraiser!
This Erg-A-Thon raises money for our Scholarship Program and for the purchase of a new rowing boat seating four rowers (4+). We are erging you for your support and donations at all levels. Find out more here.
At Walter Johnson Rowing, our mission is to foster a culture of teamwork, discipline, and excellence among our student-athletes. Through the sport of rowing, we aim to instill values of perseverance, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Although Walter Johnson Crew is open to all Walter Johnson High School students, we do not receive any funding from Montgomery County Public Schools. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we raise funds through tax-deductible donations from the greater Bethesda-Rockville community.

WJ Crew is a self-sustaining, 501(c)3 non-profit club operated by coaches, parents and guardians of rowers and coxswains.
