SUMMER LEARN TO ROW
Have you ever wondered just what rowing is and what a crew team does? The Walter Johnson Crew Learn-To-Row program is the perfect way to learn the basics about our team and the sport that ESPN ranks as one of the most physically demanding and rewarding sports around. Whether you have been involved in athletics for years and just want to try something new, or you are new to sports entirely, there is a seat for you on a WJ Crew boat! 2017 will be our 15th year on the water, and we keep getting stronger and faster each season. Come see why WJ Crew has won medals in races from Virginia to New Jersey and at the national level, and why our rowers have so much fun doing it! The one-week programs will expose prospective high school rowers to all the fundamentals of rowing, including proper technique on the water, equipment handling, and sportsmanship. This year we are offering 2 CAMPS, #1 June 26-30 from 4:00-6:30 pm and #2, August 7-11 from 4:00-6:30 pm. Camps are in the afternoon and open to rising 8th and 9th graders and all current high school students. For all the details about NEW RECRUIT INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION, see the Summer Learn-To-Row page. We look forward to seeing you on the water!
