Have you ever wondered just what rowing is and what the crew team does? The Walter Johnson Crew Learn-To-Row program is the perfect way to learn the basics about our team and the sport that ESPN ranks as one of the most physically demanding and rewarding sports around. Whether you have been involved in athletics for years and just want to try something new, or you are new to sports entirely, there is a seat for you on a WJ Crew boat!
2016 will be our 14th year on the water, and we plan to exceed our great results last season. Come see why WJ Crew has won medals in races from Virginia to New Jersey and at the national level, and why our rowers have so much fun doing it!
This one-week program will expose a prospective high school rower to all the fundamentals of rowing, including proper technique on the water, equipment handling, and sportsmanship. The camp runs the week of August 8th in the afternoon and is open to older middle school and all current high school students, regardless of what school attended. For all the details and to register one or more students online, see the Summer Learn-To-Row page. We hope to see you on the water!
