WJ Crew Family,
The entire coaching staff is extremely excited to get back to racing this weekend at Head of the Anacostia! We all look to continue the progress and success we have made in recent years. This year’s crew has gotten off to a strong start with more than two eights of committed, returning varsity rowers on both the women’s and men’s teams.
Last year represented a very successful year for WJ Crew. After competing hard at races all year long, here are some of the highlights from last season:
– Team Representation at the Head of the Charles Regatta from our Men’s 4+
– Maryland State Championships in the Men’s Novice 8+, Varsity 4+ and JV 4+
– Maryland State Championship in the Women’s JV 4+
– WMIRA Championship in the Men’s JV4+ and Men’s Fours Point Trophy
– Stotesbury Cup Regatta Semifinalist in Women’s JV8+
– Stotesbury Cup Regatta Grand Finalist in Men’s V4+ and JV4+ including 2nd place in the V4+
– SRAA National Championship Semifinalist in the Women’s JV8+
– SRAA National Championship Grand Finalist in Men’s V4+ and JV4+ including 2nd place in the V4+
– All-Met First Team Representation from Senior Zach Hicks
– All-Met Honorable Mention Representation from Junior Ben Koenig
– All-Met Best Boat Representation for First Four
This year’s goals include growing the size of our team in both rowers and equipment as we look to continue our success on and off the water.
