The Walter Johnson Crew Club, a high school student rowing club in Bethesda Maryland
The Head of the Potomac is a varsity-only regatta that comprises a day of timed races over a 6000 meter (2.7 mile) course that extends down the Potomac River, across from the Georgetown/Foggy Bottom waterfront in Washington, D.C. Boats launch from the Thompson Boat House Center.
With the warm September weather big crowds were on hand in Georgetown, and our boats did very well. One of our men’s eight and men’s four boats placed fifth in fields of 20 and 19, respectively. The WJ women’s team had two 4+ boats in the top ten.
See the Potomac Boat Club website for the complete official results.
