The Walter Johnson Crew Club, a high school student rowing club in Bethesda Maryland
The annual Head of the Occoquan (HOTO) claims to be of the largest end-of-season regattas in the United States and one of the most challenging courses in the country, in part because of its sweeping turns. It’s held on the Occoquan Reservoir at Sandy Run Regional Park in Virginia, just a 45-minute ride from Bethesda. HOTO is a two-day affair, but WJ Crew varsity and novice rowers will compete on Sunday, November 1st. See previous years’ photos here and here.
For more information see the Ronin Racing site and the WJ Crew listserv. OBC has also published a course map and an online schedule.
