This is the link for WJ’s store with JL Racing, as well as some important info from JL:
JL Gear
Check that your order is “CONFIRMED” when you order. All orders from JL MUST be completed by midnight (PST) on 9/8/16.
Of course, you can order non-WJ specific gear later – but it will be more expensive than this team order. Planned delivery is 10/28/16 for outerwear, 10/17 for everything else. Please note: The long sleeved tech shirt is NOT required. This was a mistake on JL’s part. Andrew is working on a separate shirt for Novices.
CustomInk orders can be placed at these two links:
Sweatshirt
Sweatpants
CustomInk orders close on September 13th.
Rowers must have rowing trou – the tight fitting spandex shorts that don’t catch on the seat or interfere with rowing. They may also want the long sleeve gear, it is nice when the weather turns and in the spring before the warmth returns. They also need a hat. It looks good when they are all in matching hats on race day – and we can see them! Traditionally parents don’t wear these hats, we get WJ Booster hats on back to school night.
Rowers may want to have pogies – they keep your hands dry and warm when you row in cold weather. If you are from California, you can’t hack the weather here and you think pogies are important (small dig at head coach). If you are a tough New Englander, you won’t care. Many of our rowers are bisweptual (they row port and starboard) so the three piece would be the best option.
Rowers really WANT a splash jacket. Order it and hide it until the holidays, it is present worthy. Tell Tara and Xianyu and they will not give it to your rower. Tradition is to put the rowers last name and year of graduation on the jacket – so my son has “Williams ’18.” Parents have also gotten splash jackets, you are welcome to put your year of highschool graduation on the jacket!
These items make great birthday/holiday/I’m thinking of you presents. Parents and other family members are strongly encouraged to get CustomInk gear for themselves as well as for their rower. (Trust me, you’ll want them for the team’s chillier competitions.) Tradition is to put the rowers last name on the back of the sweatshirt – and no numbers. Because we all have them, I put first initials on ours, it was not appreciated.
