Fall 2015 Registration

It’s that time of year again! As the new school year approaches, so too does the fall rowing season. This year, the season for all returning rowers and coxswains starts Tuesday, September 1st and runs through November 8th, with the novice season starting on September 28th. The fall season is built around increasing strength and endurance, while focusing on technique on and off the water.
Our tentative fall racing schedule includes at least six regattas, including the Head Of The Potomac race here in DC, Bill Braxton Memorial Regatta in New Jersey, and the famed Head Of The Charles regatta in Boston — one of the largest and most prestigious regattas in the world. The registration fee for the 2015 fall season is $710 per student for returning varsity rowers and $410 for novice first-time rowers. In general, all costs associated with fall practices and races are included in the registration fees. (Please note that there will be additional travel-related costs for regattas that require overnight trips, such as Head Of The Charles.)
Registration payments are processed with PayPal. When you click the Submit button after completing the registration form, you’ll have the option to pay with your PayPal account, a debit or credit card, or PayPal Credit.
All new students must also complete an online US Rowing waiver (enter athlete code KQ6D6).
New to WJ Crew? Please note that students who are new to WJ Crew must also submit these forms prior to the first day of practice:
- WJ Crew swim test form
- physical evaluation form
(Returning rowers, you’ve already had your swim test, but we do need an updated physical evaluation form.)
First-time rower? Students who are new to rowing can sign up for our Learn To Row (LTR) program which will run from September 20th through 26th. The LTR program enables prospective WJHS rowers to fully participate in practices, where they’ll learn the basics of rowing and be introduced to the team. Cost is $300 for one week, which is credited toward your fees should you decide to join the team. Feel free to e-mail the WJ Crew coaching staff for more information.
The WJ Crew fall season starts Tuesday, September 1st, 2015. For varsity rowers, all applicable registration fees and forms must be received by this date. New rowers: all registration fees and forms are due September 20th.
