Summer is coming to a close and the fall crew season waits to greet us.
1. Freshman picnic is August 24th at 6pm. This is a big recruitment event for the team and recruitment is vital to our continued success. Rowers should plan to attend in WJ Crew gear to chat with incoming freshmen. There will be candy.
2. Registration deadline August 28th, 2016, payment due August 30th at parent meeting.

2. New this year MANDATORY all team meeting August 30th at 7:30. WJ Cafeteria We are trying new things this year with respect to how we run the team. This should make us more financially stable, allow more flexibility in how parents pay for the seasons and save the team a bunch of money. In other words, we are raising registration fees, changing fund raising from supporting general expenses to supporting capital upgrades, allowing monthly payments, and getting rid of Paypal. It is important that we all take the time to discuss these changes. Fall season registration is $895 for varsity, $851 for novice. Parents may pay monthly $275.50. Please think ahead of time whether you would like to pay in full at the start of each season, or instead be on a monthly plan. There is no advantage to WJ Crew for either approach.
This will be a “working” meeting so please bring your checkbook (you will likely need more than one check), a pen and your patience. By the end of the evening (can we do it in an hour? I hope so) we hope to have everyone registered, pasta dinners sorted out for the fall, payments scheduled, WJ Crew gear ordered, raffle tickets distributed, name buttons made and the Code of Conduct signed by athletes and parents. We will also have a coach’s report and get our 2016-17 handbooks, Seasonal Information Packets (SIPs) and car magnets! There will be treats. I know some of you will not be able to attend for one reason or another, please get back to me so we can get you ready for fall.
