As we excitedly await the Spring Season and our return to the water, here is what our Winter Conditioning season will look like this year.
The coaches are currently providing virtual and individualized training programs that involve at-home workouts, as well as some team-based components. Given the winter surge in Covid cases, the best option moving forward is to continue with virtual training, with the hope of incorporating some in-person training outside at the WJ track when weather permits.
The cost of operating does not stop when we are primarily virtual. We still must pay the cost of storing our boats, the boat mortgages, insurance, US Rowing membership costs, coaches’ salaries, etc. Because of this, the fee for the Winter season has been set at $295 (compare to past year fees of ~$495). If you would like to join and did not receive an invoice from our registrar, Jody Smith, please email her at email@example.com.
Please, let us know if you are going through a financial hardship. We don’t want finances to influence your ability to participate. If you need us to work with you, please contact Karen Meacham at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We highly encourage everyone to participate, even if you won’t be able to participate in every workout. We are already planning for our return to the water, so we can get back out there as soon as weather and water temperatures permit.
We’re looking forward to navigating this interesting time together, and getting back to the sport we love in a more “normal” setting in the near future.
