WJ Crew team rowers and families braved strong winds for a beautiful day of racing on the Appoquinimink River (say that 5 times fast) at St. Andrew’s school. St. Andrews is one of the few courses on the East Coast that is protected enough to race in those kinds of conditions. Regattas on both the Occoquan and the Potomac were canceled, so our rowers faced some very tough rowing conditions – although not the toughest we’ve seen (Frostbite regattas, anyone?).
We had several boats row against tough competition, and a few took home some medals; always a good thing.
